We left early for the main Pangani District Hospital. Islamic Help were helping renovate parts of it. It was nice to see a somewhat modern infrastructure within the city in which all we had seen for the last few days were inadequate facilities for the inhabitants. We sat down with hospital management who thanked us for our help. We moved to the maternity ward were we helped smooth out the cracking paint and repaint over. It was sad to see the hygiene levels in a maternity ward in the main hospital in the district were so low.

After this we left for the fish market located beside the beach. We were to donate tools to a local environmental team. The white sandy beach had been left in neglect, covered in seaweed and plastic from the sea. With the tools and in the midday heat, we helped dig out huge trenches to bury the mess on the beach.

Finally, we left to meet the local football teams and sports coaches in Pangani. An area as poor as Pangani has no budget for sports activities. We donated football kits and footballs .
